The Miracle of Purim

The miracle celebration of Purim is one of God's special appointed times for your life. It's coming soon…and we don't want you to miss out on what the Lord is about to do! This season of miracles is upon us and all of the enemy's plans against are about to be turned upside down. Whatever the adversary is plotting against you, God is going to turn it around and use it to bring unprecedented favor, unexpected blessing and sudden freedom.

Purim is the biblical feast that celebrates God's powerful hand of deliverance for the Jews as told in the wonderful book of Esther. It is a day God has appointed for you to receive His special blessings. Whatever miracle you need–a breakthrough in a relationship, a physical healing, a financial provision, a promotion at work, victory in a legal matter or something else–this is the time to expect that miracle to manifest. Perhaps you don't feel the presence of God or don't understand how things could possibly change…but that's the beauty of the story of Esther…it reminds us that God is always there working behind the scenes even when we do not see Him or feel His presence.

Ancient biblical wisdom says Purim is "the time of the hidden hand of God." That's because Esther is the only book of the Bible where the name of God does not appear. But the name of the Lord is there, hidden in the Hebrew text, and His hand is at work there on every page to encourage us a miraculous deliverance is about to be released. Esther is a wonderful illustration of the truth of Romans 8:28–God does work ALL things together for our good. On the surface it may look like the enemy's plan is foolproof, but you must remember that God is already preparing a miracle to turn everything upside down. Just like with Esther the enemy is about to be rebuked and confused–and ultimately destroyed–and the very plot designed to destroy your dreams and destiny is going to be used instead to promote you to a position of great honor and overwhelming prosperity!

The Secret of the Half-Shekel

One of the traditions and secrets of Purim is the giving of the 1/2 shekel offering. This is what God says will release an atonement of your soul. Ancient teaching from Leviticus 23 and Exodus 30 call this an 'offering of fire.' Of course merely offering a 1/2 shekel coin doesn't bring about atonement. But, when this offering is given with the "fire" and expectation that emanates from deep within your sow it will release a spirit of atonement. This is why it's a 1/2 shekel; it's a reminder that we're not to do anything for God halfway. But when we sow this with wholehearted purpose and sincerity as an 'offering of fire' God's presence and power will be released!

It's no coincidence that the 1/2 shekel was made of silver. In Hebrew the word for silver or money is kesef. Now watch the brilliance of our God; this word kesef in Hebrew also means "longing." The Lord is showing us an incredible mystery and revelation that will impact our lives if we grab hold of it. This "offering of fire" is designed to release a longing and a burning desire for the things of God. It can be sown for you, or on behalf of your spouse, children or grandchildren. Of course, you can't get saved for them; but you can cover them so the enemy cannot destroy them until they come to their senses and understand that Jesus is the Lord.
